If the UK has its legendary LS3/5A, then Taiwan deserves its own classic: the Xiaoxiangsi speaker.
Designed with the ambition to create a compact yet iconic Taiwanese loudspeaker, Xiaoxiangsi blends technical precision with emotional expression—paying tribute to both global audio heritage and local craftsmanship.
At the heart of the Xiaoxiangsi lies the Tang Band W3-1878, a flagship 3" full-range driver celebrated for its refined and natural sound. Featuring a bamboo fiber diaphragm, short voice coil, powerful neodymium magnet array, and a copper phase plug, it offers smooth high-frequency dispersion and low distortion. Supporting this is a specially designed horn-style bass reflex port, enabling the Xiaoxiangsi to deliver surprisingly deep bass extension down to 90 Hz—rare for a speaker of this size.
To ensure long-term structural integrity and maintain the aesthetic beauty of real wood, the cabinet is constructed from premium birch plywood and layered with authentic Taiwanese acacia veneer. This solution avoids cracking or warping often found in solid wood under changing temperature or humidity conditions. The enclosure is hand-finished with eco-friendly AURO natural oil from Germany, making it both visually elegant and safe for home use.
Inside, signal integrity is preserved through high-grade audiophile components, including Puresonic gold-plated binding posts and internal wiring made of Essues 5N-OCC single-crystal pure silver. These elements ensure exceptional clarity, transparency, and tonal balance.
Xiaoxiangsi is a downsized evolution of TOKU&GAWA's original “Xiangsi 5N-OCC Silver Edition,” purpose-built for nearfield listening. Whether for critical desktop use or as part of a refined small-room setup, it projects a wide soundstage, clean imaging, and emotionally engaging sound that far exceeds expectations for its form factor.
