When mouth breathing, the tongue pushes the arch of the maxillary teeth upward, and the horizontal expansion becomes vertical development, causing the arch to become deeper and deeper, which in turn squeezes into the space between the nasal cavity and the nasal passages. At the same time, the tongue pushes forward causing the incisors to buck out and the jaw to retract develop. The Lip Exerciser is used to create an adequate lip seal and strengthen the lip muscles. It targets the lip muscles for closure exercises to improve closure strength, strengthen and stretch the lip muscles; improve the shape of the lips, thus correcting the bad habit of open-mouth breathing; and reduce hyperactivity during swallowing.
