1. Put the wire through the drilled hole of the gas can, out of the spout and place the valve stem with black rubber band onto the wire. 2. Bend the wire to keep it from sliding off the wire and pull the wire and golden metal valve stem through from the small hole. 3. Slide the black rubber band over the wire and onto the valve stem and pull the wire out of the valve stem. 4. Place the second black rubber band, steel ring and nut sequentially on the valve stem and tighten the nut with a wrench.
