What is the difference between THQP circuit breakers and THQL circuit breakers and can their matching panels be used interchangeably?
A THQP is a half dimensional circuit breaker or also known as a space saver, which is a thin circuit breaker with a vertical slot. The THQL is the full size circuit breaker and is a thick breaker with a horizontal groove for connecting to the column line. They fit on the same panel, and you can use thick or thin breakers if you have room for them. Some GE panels allow ultra-thin THQP, but others do not. A sticker on the panel will list all allowable breaker models.
