The patent pending Redshift Sports 2-position seat post allows you to switch your saddle between a normal road bike position and a time trial position as set up on a triathlon bike while driving. The steeper effective angle between saddle and tube bar opens your hip angle and maintains a reasonable leg extension, which makes you ride comfortably and powerfully in the time trial position. Are you driving a long flat track with headwind? Push the saddle forward and lie in the aerodynamic time trial position that beats a snip to the wind. Torturing yourself on a steep climb? Slide the saddle back and switch comfortably to the road bike position. The seat post is designed to maintain the same distance between saddle and pedal in both positions, ensuring adequate leg extension in the road bike and time trial position. Because some riders prefer more forward tilt of the saddle while riding in the aerodynamic time trial position, the seat post also has an additional adjustment that tilts the saddle forward up to five degrees when you switch from the road bike to the time trial position. The mechanism is completely stable in both positions - a spring-loaded stop keeps it securely in place until you decide to change your position. The 2-position seat post - in combination with the Redshift Sports quick-release aerole handlebar grips (not included). - puts you in a truly integrated aerodynamic time trial position without compromising your normal road bike setup. The seat post is constructed from an aviation grade 6061-T6 aluminium alloy. The tube has a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 350 mm. With clamps (not included), the seat post can be adapted to bikes with larger saddle tube diameter. The seat post is suitable for saddles with standard 7mm round saddle frame. The seat post weighs 400 g including all components.
