Diesel Ex-haust Fluid Heater, commonly called the "D-EF Heater", is located in the D-EF (Diesel Ex-haust Fluid) tank and actually contains the pickup tube for the reductant pump module, an electric heating element, a temperature sensor, and an electrode-type level sensor. Fo-rd terms the whole unit the "reductant heater and sender assembly".
D-EF freezes easily and needs to be melted in the shortest possible time for S-CR to reduce the amount of Nitrogen Oxides and release them into ex-haust system lowering the concentration of nitrogen oxide in diesel emissions from engine. D-EF reservoir is a reductant heater that enables S-CR (Selective Ca-talytic Reduction) to function at low temperatures.
This DE-F Heater Kit includes all the necessary gaskets, o-rings and bolts for a direct replacement. It is designed and manufactured to meet (or even exceed) OE standard.
