Extreme Power & Unmatched Excursion: The M12 is built to dominate, offering an impressive 2000 Watts RMS and 4000 Watts Peak power handling. This formidable power is harnessed by a 3" diameter 4-Layer Round Wire Aluminum Voice Coil wound on a thick aluminum former, driving an incredible 35mm one-way linear excursion. This extreme excursion capacity ensures deep, impactful bass reproduction with exceptional clarity and minimal distortion, even at punishing volumes. Its RE (Ohms) of 2.22 and BL (NA) of 17.484 contribute to its formidable performance.
Revolutionary Design & Patented Technology: At the heart of the M12's performance lies its custom-tooled and patented frames (US Patent Numbers D691596, D691597, D691598, and D741841) and our signature Mega-Roll Surround. This proprietary combination, coupled with Sundown's computer-optimized PG linear suspension, allows for the lowest possible bass extension while maintaining extremely low levels of distortion. The subwoofer's robust build is further enhanced by an etched all-black backplate and a quad stacked 200mm (7.87”) diameter motor structure with a 20mm thick top-plate.
Superior Thermal Management for Longevity: To ensure sustained high performance, the M12 incorporates Sundown's highly efficient high-stroke coil ventilation system, originally developed for the X and Z series. This advanced system features a high-velocity pole vent, a heavily vented magnetic gap through the back-plate, and our proprietary high-velocity cast-aluminum frame-base venting system. These cooling mechanisms effectively manage coil temperature, allowing the M12 to perform flawlessly even during extended, demanding use.
Optimized Enclosure Flexibility: The M-series was designed from the ground-up to excel in the low-frequency / small, ported box subwoofer category. It is primarily optimized for 2.5 cu ft net ported enclosures with a recommended tuning of 32Hz and a port area of 40 sq in. Uniquely for a Mega series subwoofer, the M-series also opens up the possibility for sealed (1.0 cu ft) and IB (Infinite Baffle) applications, offering unparalleled versatility for diverse installation needs. Its compact Outside Diameter of 12.67” and Mounting Depth of 10.88” provide flexible installation options.
