The red wire within the rear camera main cable is the reversing trigger wire. It activates the reversing guide lines once connected to a 12V power source. When the vehicle shifts into reverse gear, reversing guide lines will appear on the rear display of the dashcam. If you do not require this feature, you can leave this wire disconnected. The daily recording function of the dashcam will remain fully operational.
