Pentair Pentek PCC212 Phosphate Water Filter, 10-Inch, Under Sink Hexametaphosphate Crystal Replacement Cartridge, Fits #10 Standard and #10 Slim Line Filter Housing
HELPS CONTROL SCALE AND CORROSION - Hexametaphosphate crystals dissolve slowly to keep hardness minerals suspended so they cannot precipitate and form scale deposits when water is heated, helping protect water heaters and equipment.
TRIPLE-ACTION PHOSPHATE TREATMENT - One cartridge helps reduce scale, helps inhibit corrosion on metal surfaces and pipes, and sequesters dissolved iron up to 1 ppm to help reduce the staining and discoloration it can cause.
DURABLE FILTER MATERIALS - Sodium calcium hexametaphosphate (polyphosphate) crystal media in a polypropylene shell with a polypropylene post-filter and Buna-N gaskets, rated for water from 40 to 100 degrees F.
FITS 10-INCH STANDARD AND SLIM LINE HOUSINGS - Maximum dimensions 9-3/4" x 2-5/8" (248 mm x 67 mm) drop into number 10 Standard or Slim Line filter housings; handles maximum hardness 15 gpg and pH 6.5 to 9.0.
SIX-MONTH SERVICE LIFE - Treats scale, corrosion and iron for up to six months at 1 to 1.5 gpm; not recommended for main line use above 3.0 gpm. Ideal for ice machines, coffee and vending machines, water heaters and AC equipment.
Description
Pentair Pentek PCC212 cartridges contain hexametaphosphate crystals that dissolve slowly into the water to help inhibit scale and rust build-up. Rather than filtering sediment, this cartridge treats water chemically: hardness particles are held in suspension so they cannot precipitate and form deposits when heated, a protective coating is formed on metal surfaces to help inhibit corrosion, and dissolved iron up to 1 ppm is sequestered to help reduce staining and discoloration.
Built with a polypropylene shell, polypropylene post-filter and Buna-N gaskets, the PCC212 handles maximum hardness of 15 gpg and a pH range of 6.5 to 9.0 at temperatures from 40 to 100 degrees F. Maximum dimensions are 9-3/4" x 2-5/8", so it drops into number 10 Standard or Slim Line filter housings.
Effective for up to six months at 1 to 1.5 gpm, the PCC212 is recommended for ice machines, coffee and vending machines, food service equipment, water heaters, air conditioning equipment and other water processing equipment. It is not recommended for main line water applications with flow rates exceeding 3.0 gpm.
