  • Designed for grooving and multi-directional turning. Use to generate grooves, arcs and angles. Offset to allow cutting along a shoulder.
  • For grooving up to .105" deep. Inserts can be used for ID and face grooving and profiling.
  • For ID grooving, use RH 'MGT' toolholder. For face grooving, use LH 'MGTF' toolholder. Minimum bore and reach into bore determined when matched with toolholder.
  • TiN Coated DURA-MAX 5000 carbide grooving insert for stainless steel without interrupted cuts.

DURA-MAX 5000 carbide is a hard, abrasion resistant, sub-micron grain carbide with excellent edge and corner retention. This grade is recommended for cutting abrasive materials without an interrupted cut. TiN is an excellent general purpose PVD coating for cutting most materials. TiN provides excellent wear resistance and allows increased cutting rates. TiN increases lubricity at the cutting edge which reduces galling and welding.
