8mm Torx Button Flange Head screws are fully-threaded fasteners with a six-lobe drive for use with a Torx #40 Bit. These specialty screws are different from standard allen button head screw because they are designed with a circular flange or a skirt under the head that functions as a built-in washer and distributes the force evenly across the surface to which it will be fastened.
Made of Class 8.8 carbon steel similar to US Grade 5 and mostly used for automotive and fastening applications, drones, snowmobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, etc. The Clear Zinc plated finish, aside from the shiny silver aesthetic, provides some protection from rust and corrosion if the screw came in contact with water.
Torx Drive / 6-Lobe Inner Multi-Tooth Drive requires a Torx#40 installation bit. A torx drive bit IS NOT included in this product.
The Torx TX drive allows a 6-point star or Torx bit to easily hold the fastener during installation. Applications include sheet metal screw connections in sanitary and heating assemblies, general metal construction. Also known as metric button head, machine screw, or pan head flanged screw.
