Description

This O-ring is crafted from Black Viton (FKM) fluoroelastomer, featuring a round cross-section and a durometer rating of 90A, making it ideal for demanding sealing applications where excellent chemical and temperature resistance are required.
Viton offers outstanding resistance to a wide variety of chemicals, including petroleum-based oils and fuels, lubricants, mineral acids, and many aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. It maintains its sealing performance in environments with high temperatures, operating effectively within a range of -15°F (-26°C) to 400°F (204°C). Viton also demonstrates excellent resistance to ozone, sunlight, weathering, and oxidation, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. However, it is not recommended for use with low molecular weight esters, ethers, ketones, certain amines, or superheated steam.
With a shore durometer of 90A, this Viton O-ring indicates a specific hardness level and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value reflects greater resistance to indentation, with the scale ranging from 0 to 100, where 100 means no indentation occurs.
O-rings are typically employed to create pressure and fluid seals between overlapping cylindrical surfaces. They are commonly found in applications like engines, pumps, chemical processing equipment, valves, and various industrial machinery. Shaped like a doughnut, these circular rings feature a hole in the center. O-rings come in various sizes and can be ordered based on the required nominal inside diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), and cross-sectional (CS) diameter.
These Viton O-rings conform to the standards set by Aerospace Standard AS568A, which defines the Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings.
Actual ID: 0.424 ± 0.005 Inch (10.77 ± 0.13mm)
Actual CS: 0.103 ± 0.003 Inch (2.62 ± 0.08mm)
Actual OD: 0.630 Inch (16.010mm)
