This is an aftermarket part that replaces OEM part numbers: 45153-AA000, 45153-AA010, 45642-KG000, SU003-01187, 16471-23030. Dorman equivalent: 54247. This is an aftermarket coolant expansion tank cap, not a genuine part.

Product Details:
Verify your expansion tank neck diameter matches your existing cap before ordering.
Type: Two-way pressure and vacuum recovery cap (expansion tank, reserve tank, overflow tank).
Pressure rating: 88-108 kPa (12.8-15.7 psi).
Function: Primary spring releases expanding coolant to the overflow bottle. Secondary vacuum spring siphons coolant back during cool-down to keep the cooling system air-free.
Installation: Twist-lock onto expansion tank neck. No tools required.
Gas engines only.

When to Replace:
Replace when you notice the coolant overflow bottle overflowing repeatedly, coolant level dropping without visible leaks, engine overheating after short drives, or steam coming from the expansion tank area. A failing cap loses its ability to hold system pressure or recover coolant from the overflow bottle, causing air pockets in the cooling system and eventual overheating.

Important Notes:
This is an EXPANSION TANK cap, not a radiator cap. Subaru vehicles use two separate caps. Do not install this cap on the radiator. The radiator uses a one-way high-pressure cap (45137-FE002 or 45137-AE003), which is a completely different part.
NOT compatible with Subaru Legacy 2005 and newer or Outback 2005 and newer. Those models switched to a different expansion tank design requiring cap 45155-AG00A.
NOT compatible with EE20 Boxer Diesel engines. Diesel models require cap 45153-AA001 due to a different overflow tube angle.
Levorg, Exiga, R1, R2, and Stella are Japan-market models. If you imported one of these vehicles, this cap is a direct fit.
