Click&Fit Fuel Cap Tether Strap - aftermarket keeper-strap replacement
This is an aftermarket part that replaces OEM part numbers: 1711A004, MN120346, MR503001. This is an aftermarket fuel cap tether (keeper strap), not a genuine part. It replaces only the broken tether portion of the original cap assembly so the existing cap body can stay in service.

Product Details:
Two-plug tether design: one small push-in pin end (anchors to the fuel door body) and one wider collar-plug end (snaps into the swivel channel on the cap shell). Flexible thermoplastic elastomer construction. Black color.
Sold as a single tether strap (1 piece). Cap body and gasket not included.
When to Replace:
The original keeper strap commonly cracks, splits, or detaches after years of UV exposure and repeated fueling cycles. When the strap fails, the cap can fall onto the ground, drop into the fuel door, or be left at the pump. A lost or unseated cap triggers EVAP system fault codes P0442 (small leak), P0455 (gross leak), or P0457 (loose fuel cap), illuminates the check engine light, and causes state emissions inspection failures.
Installation:
The two end-plugs press into their respective receptacles by hand: the small pin end into the fuel door body anchor point, the wider collar end into the swiveling channel on the cap shell. No tools or adhesive required. The most common installation error is reversing the two ends, since one is sized for the cap and the other for the body anchor point.
Important Notes:
Compare both end-plug shapes against the broken original tether before ordering, since tethers from different generations of the OEM cap assembly may differ in plug geometry.
