Special Features

  • The ATGM336H module supports 3.3V-5V power supply, so we can connect it to either a 3.3V power supply or a 5V power supply
  • The data is sent to the main control unit through the serial port. If you are simply doing positioning, you only need the first 4 pins, that is, the PPS pins are not used
  • The GPS module sends data to the main control chip through the serial port. ATGM336H will return multiple pieces of information at one time. The first one in the information header is the message ID, which indicates the data collected through which positioning system
  • There are three types of latitude and longitude formats: degrees, degrees-minutes, and degrees-minutes-seconds
  • The ATGM336H module supports GPS and BDS dual-mode positioning, and can provide information such as longitude and latitude, speed, and time

Description

The ATGM336H module sends data to the main control chip through the serial port.
ATGM336H will return multiple pieces of information at one time.
The first one in the information header is the message ID, which indicates the data collected through which positioning system.

There are three types of latitude and longitude formats: degrees, degrees-minutes, and degrees-minutes-seconds.

ATGM336H has three different startup modes:
Cold start: It is suitable for the first time of use. If the battery is exhausted and the ephemeris information is lost, or after shutting down, the mobile phone moves more than 1000 kilometers. These are cold starts. The cold start time is very long, and it usually takes a few minutes to successfully locate.
Warm start: Warm start means that there is no major displacement change at the place where the power was last shut down, and the time since the last positioning is more than 2 hours, but less than 4 hours.
Hot start: Hot start means that there is no major displacement change at the place where the power was last shut down, and the time since the last positioning is less than 2 hours.

Hardware connection between the ATGM336H module and the STM32 development board usually includes the following steps:

TX: Connect to the RX pin of STM32 .
RX: Connect to the TX pin of STM32 .
VCC: Connect to the 3.3V or 5V power supply of the STM32.
GND: Connect to the ground of STM32.

Note:
This module must be used in an unobstructed open space and cannot be used indoors.
The receiving dot on the ceramic antenna must face upward, and there must be no obstruction on it.
It is not suitable to be used in places with small building distances. Places with small building distances may cause positioning failure
