Instructions:

- Turn off the engine, open the hood, lock all doors, and wait for the vehicle to enter sleep mode.
- Attach the spring clamp to the negative battery terminal. Connect the black clamp to the negative battery post and the red clamp to the positive battery post.
- Loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal clamp, then disconnect the negative clamp from the battery post.
- Read the value on the meter display: 50 mA corresponds to a meter reading of 0.05 A.
- After testing, remove the testing device first, then reconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid sparking during connection.
- The tester is equipped with a small 10A fuse. Replace it with a fuse of the same rating if it is damaged.

Understanding Your Test Results:

Healthy Range (20mA - 50mA): Your vehicle is in a healthy "Sleep Mode."
Abnormal Range (Above 50mA): You have identified a leak! It's time to pull fuses to find the culprit.
The Goal (0.00A - 0.05A): No significant leakage—your battery is safe!

- To test for electrical leakage, simulate the vehicle's non-operating state. Be sure to lock all doors and remove the key to put the vehicle's computer into sleep mode.
- Sleep times vary by vehicle model; please wait patiently for the vehicle to enter sleep mode before taking measurements.
- Standby current differs across vehicle models. The ideal standby current for ordinary vehicles is between 20–50 milliamps.
