Initially identified as a thymus-specific chemokine produced constitutively, CCL22 plays a role in T cell recruitment. Its functions include inducing CCR4+ Th2 cell migration and regulating Treg migration. CCL22 has been linked to various diseases like allergen-induced lung inflammation, atopic dermatitis, and lymphoma.
