The FIBARO Door and Window Sensor is a battery operated, Z-Wave compatible contact sensor. It combines two devices into one easy-to-use product (reed and temperature sensor). The sensor can be used to monitor the condition (open/closed) of doors, windows, window blinds or garage doors, etc. In addition, the integrated temperature sensor measures the temperature at the installation location and reports the value to the Z-Wave control unit. The product consists of two elements, one of which is attached to the moving part of the window or door. The other part is fixed on the frame. The sensor must be included in the Z-Wave network by remote control or another Z-Wave controller. If an action is detected by the sensor, it sends a signal to the Z-Wave control unit. Compared to this, the FIBARO Door/Window Sensor 2 has a more compact and round design and the permanently integrated temperature sensor. No more free binary input is available.
