Often abbreviated as D-Gal, Galactose is a monosaccharide sugar that is a C-4 epimer of glucose. D-Gal is commonly used in MRS broth for microbial growth, as a labeling buffer component, and to induce UCP expression in yeast. This powder is water soluble.
