The component's elastic nylon insert fits snugly against the fastener and is designed to prevent loosening. An integrated flange provides this nut with greater load carrying capacity.
The thread diameter of these components is about 5 mm and the flange diameter is about 14 mm. Made of carbon steel with galvanized finish for high hardness and long service life. With nylon inserts, these locknuts greatly reduce vibration and loosening under torque.
Nuts can be reused up to 50 times, used together with bolts, washers or screws, as fasteners when mechanically connecting materials, and will not damage the threads of the fasteners used with them.
Vibration is not loose. The flanged design allows the nut to span a larger hole than standard nylon insert jam nuts while providing a more even bearing stress to clamping force ratio.
