Seals are manufactured to fit specific inlet liners for specific instruments to provide the best possible seals for reproducible conditions. Graphite seals are recommended for use at temperatures up to 450°C. Soft consistency forms a stable seal. Viton seals are more robust and have a longer life. They are limited to use below 300°C.
