Description

Polycarbonate H connectors, also known as H-channels, are used to join two polycarbonate sheets together, providing a secure and weatherproof connection. They are designed to fit over the edges of the sheets, creating a seamless connection. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use them: 1. Prepare the sheets: Ensure the polycarbonate sheets are clean and dry. If using multiwall sheets, consider applying a mild liquid detergent to the edges to aid in sliding the H-connector. 2. Position the first sheet: Place the first polycarbonate sheet with the printed (UV protected) side up. 3. Install the H-connector: Slide the H-connector over the edge of the first sheet. The shorter side of the profile, often UV protected, should be facing up. 4. Add the second sheet: Position the second sheet next to the first, ensuring it aligns with the H-connector. 5. Secure the connection: The H-connector should snap into place, securing the two sheets. If it doesn't snap, you can gently tap it with a rubber mallet to ensure a tight fit. 6. Fasten if necessary: Depending on the application, you may need to further secure the connection with screws or other fasteners. If so, fasten through the H-connector and into the frame, using appropriate washers and screws for polycarbonate. 7. Seal and finish: For added weatherproofing, you can seal the edges of the H-connector with silicone sealant. Important Considerations: UV Protection: Ensure the UV-protected side of the H-connector faces upwards for optimal protection against sun damage. Expansion and Contraction: Polycarbonate expands and contracts with temperature changes. Ensure the H-connector allows for this movement to prevent stress on the sheets. Cleaning: Avoid using abrasive cleaners or sharp objects when cleaning polycarbonate sheets and H-connectors.
