Siemens Definite Purpose (DP) Contactors The DP Contactor was developed for applications such as HVAC, refrigeration, fans, blowers and welders for OEMS and manufacturers of machinery. However, the market for DP contactors has grown to include many more commercial, construction and industrial applications. These reliable contactors are available up to 90 amps and in 1- 2- or 3-pole configurations at coil voltages 24-480V. The Class 42 family includes 2- and 3-pole units from 30A to 90A. These devices also accept auxiliary contacts and coils can be replaced. The Class 42 include screw terminals for the 30A and box lugs for the 40A and higher versions. A durable back plate is common with the series. The Class 42 also offers quiet operation, weld resistant silver Cadmium Oxide contacts and has a visible contact position window. The Class F coil insulation gives the Class 45 a greater thermal stability in operation.
