1.Description:
Most current measuring devices, such as our current panel meters, are only suitable for low side measurements. This means that unless you want to use a battery, you must stick the measuring resistor between the target ground and the actual ground. This may cause problems with the circuit, as electronic devices often do not like the ground reference to change and move with changes in current consumption. This chip is more intelligent - it can handle high voltage side current measurements up to+60VDC!
A precision amplifier measures the voltage across a 0.1 ohm, 1% detection resistor. The rated value of this resistor is 2W continuous current, so you can measure continuous currents up to+5A. The output is the current drawn through the onboard 10K resistor, therefore the output voltage is 1V per ampere. Therefore, for a current of 2A, the output will be 2V. You can change the load resistance to be larger or smaller by cutting the wiring next to the load resistance and soldering the through-hole resistance. If welding a 20K resistor, the voltage per ampere is 2V, and if welding a 5K resistor, the voltage per ampere is 0.5V.
