Adapted from a Greek instrument and brought to Ireland in the 1960s. The Irish bouzouki is an adaptation of the much older original Greek string instrument. The main differences between the Irish bouzouki and Greek bouzouki are the shape of the body, the length of the fingerboard and the string tuning. Today the Irish bouzouki plays a very important part in Irish music. With such a rich and bright sound, bouzoukis are now regulars at many a traditional music session. Our bouzouki has a beautiful solid spruce top. The back and sides are solid maple, the neck is maple & the fingerboard is acacia wood. The flat back design provides a rich, resonant low end and clear with a bright high register The machine heads are metal, nickel-plated with ivory colour plastic peg buttons. Gig Bag is included.
