Detailed 1/72 scale assembly model kit of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, a ground-attack aircraft originally designed to operate from United States Navy aircraft carriers in the 1950's. Although considered by some as one of the less attractive combat aircraft ever produced, the A-4, nevertheless, was a pilot's airplane. The A-4 Skyhawak is a small and light-weight aircraft with outstanding speed and maneuverability, and Skyhowks were beloved by pilots who flew them. During the Vietnam War, Skyhawks were the Navy's primary light bomber used over North Vietnam, and Skyhwas flew some of the most dangerous close ground support missions of the war. Besides its distinguished service record as a ground-attack aircraft, the A-4 Skyhawks were also used by the Blue Angels demonstration team until the 1980's and also as aggressor aircrafts by the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), a testament to the type's impressive performance.
