SPEEDER - POWERED TRACK CAR - NEW YORK CENTRAL - Large "G" Scale. Lightweight and versatile, Speeders are used by maintenance crews to inspect track conditions, travel between maintenance sites, and shuttle tools and equipment for track repairs. Many retired Speeders have additionally found a second life in the railfan community, where privately owned cars are operated in procession at special Speeder events on tourist railroads.
