Centaury (Centaurium erythraea) is a herbaceous plant; a species of the genus Centaurium of the family Gentianaceae. The root is stem, light. The stem is erect, tetrahedral, 10-50 cm tall. The flowers are bright pink, collected in a corymbose inflorescence - thyrsus. It blooms from June to September. The fruit is a cylindrical box about 1 cm long. The seeds are small, rounded, brown in color.
