Iron Grip: Warlord is a multiplayer co-op game with a unique combination of FPS and Tower Defense elements. The gameplay requires players to build turrets and traps while wielding a variety of destructive weapons to destroy hordes of enemy infantry and vehicles. Despite being vastly outnumbered and outgunned, they must defend their stronghold and hunt down enemy officers. The game was released in 2008, and has received several patches and the free Winter Offensive DLC since then. The game has sold more than 75,000 copies over the years.

The Confederate military has begun a full scale invasion of Atelia. Warlord Sahrab, the leader of the Atelian militia army, has devised a desperate strategy for his severely outnumbered troops. He plans to entrench in cities, and if his militia can hold the enemy off for long enough, the Confederates will be forced to use aerial bombardments to crush the resistance in the cities. Of course, many innocent civilians will be killed during these air assaults, but Sahrab hopes this ruthless method will trigger an uprising among the Atelian people and unite them under his banner. This would give Sahrab a considerable force to counter the Confederate army. It is the job of the player to defend their city, and hold off the enemy army at all costs until they are forced to use aerial bombardments.
