These boxcars ran regularly from 1955-1975 and could be seen being pulled by 1st and 2nd generation diesel locomotives or late steam. These highly detailed and authentically liveried box cars are made using high quality construction materials and come equipped with knuckle couplers and metal road wheels, featuring plug doors. The Great Northern Railway was infamous from the beginning being the only privately funded railroad created without the help of federal land grants. The Great Northern pioneered through many of the difficult mountain passes of the Rockies to reach the Pacific Northwest from the mid-west, and up to several Provinces in Canada hauling many types of loads including ore, freight, mail and passenger services.
