Famously known as a perfect modding platform (just look at Kurt Cobain's wildly modded version), we've customized this model with our favorite tweaks: a fast shorter scale, custom pickups, and a rock-solid hardtail bridge. Best of all, we've taken out the guesswork—it's ready to build right out of the box.
Custom upgrades right out of the box
First we've customized the neck to use a shorter 24-9/16" "Gibson" scale. This makes bending and vibrato much easier, adding a whole new level of expressiveness to your playing.
Next we've upgraded the pickups to a Strat-style single coil in the neck and a full-sized humbucker in the bridge. You get the best of both worlds: clearly defined bass and full-throated treble all at the flick of a switch. Speaking of the switch, we've made it easy with a simple 3-way toggle, no need to get lost with all the rollers and unusable controls!
Lastly, we've added a rock-solid 6-saddle hardtail bridge. It's easy to dial in the perfect action, and it sustains and stays in tune like a dream.

You don't need a workshop to build this guitar—and there's a good chance you already own the tools you'll need. We've taken care of the tricky parts—the neck is fretted, the body is shaped, all you need to do is focus on the details and truly make it your own unique guitar.
The neck is matched to each body for a solid connection and easy installation. The routing is clean and the bridge holes are drilled in the perfect location. With minimal prep you're ready to apply the finish.
