Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, ethyl acetate and benzene. Very sensitive to alkali, with a special blue-green color when it meets alkaline aqueous solution. Acid-base indicator, but yellow at pH=3.8, blue-green at pH=5.4, and starts to have obvious change of color at pH=4.5.
