It closes at low RPM's and opens up at high RPM's to pressurized air and make it more combustible. If your vehicle is idling rough, experiencing poor fuel economy, loss of power, hearing rattling noise from the engine then you may need to replace your DISA valve.

The DISA valve can easily be located in the inlet plenum chamber of the intake manifold and can be accessed by removing the intake manifold.
