½" SOLID CEDAR — 50% THICKER THAN STANDARD WALL PLANKS: At 12mm (nearly ½ inch), these panels are substantially thicker than the ¼" boards commonly sold online. Thicker wood resists warping and cupping in humid environments like bathrooms and saunas, holds nails, staples, and construction adhesive more securely, and delivers the solid, architectural feel of real woodwork — not a surface veneer that flexes under your hand.
REAL WESTERN RED CEDAR — AND THICKNESS IS WHAT MAKES IT LAST: All Western Red Cedar contains natural oils that resist moisture and decay. But at ¼" (6–8mm), even WRC can warp, cup, or delaminate in consistently humid conditions like saunas, steam rooms, and bathrooms. Our ½" (12mm) boards have significantly more material mass to absorb and release moisture evenly — the same reason professional sauna builders specify thick-cut planks, not thin ones. Same species. Twice the performance where it counts.
TONGUE & GROOVE DESIGN FOR SEAMLESS, TOOL-FRIENDLY INSTALLATION: Precision-milled tongue and groove edges lock boards together flush with no visible gaps. At ½" thickness, panels accept pneumatic nailers, brad guns, and finish nails cleanly — no need to rely on adhesive alone. Cut easily with a standard miter saw or circular saw. Works for horizontal, vertical, or diagonal layouts on walls, ceilings, and feature panels.
BUILT FOR HIGH-HUMIDITY SPACES & ACCENT WALLS ALIKE: The combination of Western Red Cedar's natural oils and ½" thickness makes these panels ideal where thinner boards fail — sauna rooms, steam showers, bathroom accent walls, covered porches, and mudrooms. Equally stunning in dry interior spaces: bedroom feature walls, home offices, and living room shiplap-style installations. Accepts stains, clear coats, and natural oil finishes.
NATURAL WOOD CHARACTER — color-sorted within each set, variation across sets: Within every single pack, boards are hand-grouped by similar tone so the panels work together cohesively straight out of the box. However, Western Red Cedar's color varies from tree to tree and cannot be controlled at the production level — one set may arrive in deep chocolate tones while another is pale honey, even from the same shipment. Multi-set projects should expect visible tonal differences between packs. If color consistency across a large surface is a strict requirement, please review all product photos carefully before purchasing.
