Description

Omicron MCE (Mixed Cellulose Ester) membrane filter is a mixture of nitrocellulose (cellulose nitrate) and cellulose acetate. This process ensures the membrane has consistent thickness, smoother, uniform pore structure which facilitates particle detection and a high retention level. The MCE membrane offers a high degree of internal surface area and so it wets out evenly, has greater product adsorption and retains superior strength during use in gravimetric analysis and general filtration. They have characteristic hydrophilic, biologically inert (meaning that the membrane has no detectable effect on cells or biological systems into which it comes into contact), plain, white absolute membrane filter which high flow rate and very effective micro-organism retention. Omicron MCE membrane filter is ideal for a wide range of clarification, sterilization and analytical applications such as: microbiological analysis, clarification or sterilization of aqueous solutions.
