Description

This furring channel / hat channel is a corrosion-resistant, hat-shaped framing component designed to create a gap between masonry walls and ceiling assemblies. In concrete wall applications, the furring channel is installed vertically onto the wall surface using concrete nails or power-driven fasteners. Gypsum panels are then secured to the furring channels with screws. For drop ceiling installations, furring channels can be attached directly to 1-1/2" cold rolled channels using Metal Furring Channel Clips or tie wire. Furring channels can also be fastened directly to the building structure with screws or power-driven fasteners. Heavier gauge furring provides increased span capabilities and loading capacity.
