NPN NO (Normally Open): In its default state (no object detected), the NPN transistor is off, keeping the output open (no current flows). When an object is detected, the transistor turns on, closing the circuit and sinking current to ground, activating the load. Great for triggering actions on detection.
To use a photoelectric sensor: Mount and align it so the light beam hits the target. Wire it correctly (NPN = connects to ground, PNP = connects to +V). Adjust sensitivity if needed. Test by blocking the beam—the sensor's LED or output signal will confirm detection.
Keep the sensor clean and avoid bright ambient light that might interrupt the detection result.
