In 1958 the Marine Corps adopted the rifle expert badge in the current marksmanship series and replaced the old USMC shooting badge. Similar to the Pistol expert badge this badge changed from expert rifleman to rifle expert and Crossed M-1 rifles replaced the M1903 rifles on the expert badge. The badge displays two rifles crossing that are surrounded by a wreath that hangs from your official US Marine uniform. Has a mirror finish and measures at 1 ¾ inches in diameter.
