Standard use is simply plug into your switch adapted toy or device and press the button. No Batteries needed. Second option is to insert two AA batteries (Not Included) and use the switch on the bottom to turn on the light. Operates all toys and devices exactly the same as regular switches, but when the caregiver puts in batteries and turns it on, now there is an attracting light to help it being seen.
