Our 2.8" Beasty Bug Jr. is the perfect Finesse Ned Craw, to catch even the most finicky bass. In addition, the Beasty Bug Jr.'s claws float, so when used on a jig or neko rig they will maintain the defensive position, eliciting the strike. We use a medium grade plastisol to give it toughness when being skipped or placed through heavy cover, dragged along the bottom, or thrashed around in the mouth of a fish. This craw also has enough suppleness to give it the action needed to entice the bass into biting. Rod/Reel/Line: 6'6" Medium or Medium light spinning rod paired up with a 1500 or 2500 series spinning reel on 12 pound braid to a 6lb fluorocarbon leader Rigging: The ideal rig we've found for these is Ned or Neko. On a Neko rig take a small 3/32oz tungston weight, insert into the tail, an o-ring around the body, and a 1/0 neko hook, thrown on 6lb florocarbon line. On a Ned rig simply thread the bait onto our Toadstool Ned head with the claws facing away from the jig head. Our customers have also seen success using them as a micro jig trailer. Additional Rigging Options: Toadstool Ned Rig Head Ned Rig Football Head Split Shot Jig Trailer Neko Texas Carolina Wobble Head Flipping/Pitching Tokyo Rig ChatterBait Trailer Swim Jig Trailer Drop Shot Free Rig Retrieval: The key with this "craw" style bait is to mimic a craws behavior on any rigging shown above. On a Ned rig allow the bait to fall to the bottom on slack line and impart a pop with the rod tip, than another pop, pop, and allow the bait to fall on slack line. The drag technique is also good for cold water applications. Durability: Medium, 3-5 fish/bait Length: 2.8" Bait Design: The body shape has 2 flanged claws, leading into a rounded ribbed body as it moves into the tail section which is solid. Scent: Like all our baits they are heavily scented with our Phat Juice which is a Craw/Leech/Shad combination. Salt: Light Floating: Yes, Claws
