Description

Sterling Silver Handmade Roman Empire Gaius Julius Caesar men's ring. There is a very detailed and an intricately designed frame which makes the ring an extremely rare and attractive piece. The face of the piece is crafted with the image of Gaius Julius Caesar who wielded his power to enlarge the senate, created needed government reforms, and decreased Rome's debt. At the same time, he sponsored the building of the Forum Iulium and rebuilt two city-states, Carthage and Corinth. He also granted citizenship to foreigners living within the Roman Republic. The letters S.P.Q.R symbolized the Vexilloid of the Roman Empire. “Vexilloid” is a term used to describe vexillary (flag-like) objects used by countries, organizations, or individuals as a form of representation other than flags. The vexillum of the Roman Empire, emblazoned with SPQR (senātus populusque Rōmānus), “senate and people of Rome”
