Turkey rhubarb (Rheum palmatum) is a species of flowering plant in the knotweed family Polygonaceae. It is commonly called Chinese rhubarb, ornamental rhubarb, or East Indian rhubarb. Rheum palmatum is an herbaceous perennial related to the edible rhubarb. The plant is hermaphrodite. It has huge, dark green leaves, up to 30in long. The flowers are pink or creamy-white in color. Blooming period is from spring to midsummer. Its flowering period is from June to July, and the seeds ripen from July to September.
