In early 1985, Ray Underhill packed up his gear and drove his Ford hatchback from Gallatin, Tennessee to California to pursue his dreams of making it big in skateboarding. Soon after his arrival, Powell Peralta recognized his talent and welcomed him as an amateur on the legendary Bones Brigade team. Ray's patience and dedication paid off when Powell Peralta released his first pro model - Chain and Cross in 1990. Known for his smooth style and deep bag of tricks, Ray brought a unique talent and grace to the vert scene of the late 1980's, making friends everywhere he went. The changing skate culture of the early 1990's refocused skateboarding on street skating, and by the mid 1990's, vert skating and its heroes were out of fashion. Ray's exceptional personality, skills and friendships enabled him to transition into the supply side of the skate industry, applying his artistic expertise, work ethic, and signature kindness to create a second successful career.
