On January 12, 1984, the USPS issued this 20 cent stamp acknowledging the FDIC that was created as a result of the Banking Act of 1933, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) attempted to renew confidence in Depression-era banks by insuring money deposited in these banks, up to $5,000 per account.
