This drop-in mod replaces the noisy 7V fan in your PlayStation 2 with a much quieter black 12V Sunon fan. It runs off the PS2's internal 12V power supply instead of its low-voltage fan connector, so the fan can spin at full speed to maintain stock airflow. You also get three speed settings, so you can dial in the noise and airflow to your liking. Like the stock fan, it switches on and off automatically.
Installation is simple and clean—no shell modifications, soldering, or bulky wiring adapters needed. Just a #2 Phillips screwdriver and about 20 minutes, even if it's your first time opening a PlayStation 2.
Works with all fat PS2 models that have an i.LINK (S400) port next to the top USB port and an original power supply (SCPH-39001, 37000, 35001, 30001R, and 8-screw 30001). Also works with or without a network adapter and accommodates both 2.5" and 3.5" size hard disk drives.
Not compatible with the 10-screw version of the 30001, SCPH-50001/55000, or any PlayStation 2 console with an aftermarket power supply.
