The different colors of polishing compounds have a different scale from coarse to fine, commonly-used polishing compounds and suitable applications below:
Green: It is mainly used to polish stainless steel surfaces. It removes scratches and provides a mirror-like finish.
White: Primarily used for hard metals and stainless steel, white polishing compounds have a finer composition, making them suitable for cutting and intermediate stages of the polishing process.
Black: For removing deep scratches or smoothing rough surfaces and adding shine to aluminum, steel, copper, brass and similar metals.
Brown: It is commonly used to polish the surfaces of softer metals such as brass, copper and aluminum. It can even be applied to wood surfaces to produce a glossy finish.
Blue: Can be used for non-ferrous metals, plastics or synthetic materials (except low melting point plastics)
