Fits Mercury/Mariner Outboard:

Installation Step:
STEP 1. Ensure proper fit before installing the Skeg Protector Guard. There must be at least two to three inches of upper skeg remaining to secure the new Skeg Protector Guard to. lf any portion of the skeg has been bent or distorted, fitment may be difficult without re-conforming to original shape.
STEP 2. Any spurs or jagged edges should be filed smooth, so the Skeg Protector Guard can easily slide over the existing skeg.
STEP 3. Place the guard on the skeg, use a leather, rubber or wooden mallet, gently tap on it to get it started until fully seated.
STEP 4. Using the two pre-drilled mounting holes in the Skeg Protector Guard as pilot holes, drill the skeg using a 1/4" drill bit, and install the stainless steel hardware using the hex key tool supplied with the product. The hardware includes a thread locker sealant to prevent loosening of the bolts once installed.
