Water turbidity refers to the degree of turbidity caused by suspended substances such as sand, clay, organic matter, plankton and in the water. Industrial-grade turbidity sensors or turbidity meters are expensive, and the cost is too high in the designed of electronic products to be suitable for selection; therefore, we chose a turbidity sensor that is widely used in household appliances, washing machines and dishwashers. The sensor uses optical principles to comprehensively judge the turbidity condition through the light transmittance and scattering rate in the solution. Inside the sensor is an infrared pair tube. When light passes through a certain amount of water, the amount of light transmitted depends on the degree of pollution of the water. The more dirty the water, the less light is transmitted. The light receiving end converts the power of the transmitted light into a corresponding current. If the transmitted light is more, the current is large. On the contrary, the transmitted light is less and the current is small.
