The Hypro 4001C is a 4-roller pump that is used in many agricultural, industrial, and fluid transfer applications. Another use for this pump is to pressure test pipes and sewer lines as a hydrostatic test pump. The rotary-action roller principle is very economical, as it does not require check valves, while providing positive displacement characteristics with less friction and lower starting torque than other pumps. Roller pumps receive a fluid through the inlet port where it is captured and transported by the rollers, then released through the outlet port. The rotation on the 4001 series Hypro roller pumps is clockwise to allow for direct attachment to a gas engine or electric motor.
