High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps provide a brighter beam than standard Halogen, ensuring more complete coverage and enhanced night time visibility. HID lighting is light from a plasma discharge rather than a filament and uses less energy than halogen lighting, while producing 3 times more light.
The bulb is filled with a mixture of XENON gas and metal halide salts. A powerful light is created by striking an arc between two electrodes, giving the bulb the incredible combination of high lumen output, high energy efficiency, and a long operating life.
